Arrangements Involving Grandchildren

Grandparents can lose contact with their grandchildren for a number of reasons. One of the most common is a separation or divorce between the children’s parents.

The breakdown of the relationship between parents is a very difficult time for families. It is very often the case that grandparents are overlooked and sadly forgotten during those times.

Family disagreements, where grandparents fall out with one of the parents, can also lead to a refusal to allow them to spend time with their grandchildren.

Whilst it is possible for grandparents to apply to court to see their grandchildren, mediation will need to be considered before any such application can be made.

At Hethertons, our mediators are ‘All Issues’ trained family mediators, who are also experienced family law solicitors. We will be able to help you to mediate about any matters surrounding grandchildren and grandparents.
